Lucy Pereda is an international celebrity in the Hispanic media in the United States as well as in Central and South America and Portugal. Her charisma, beauty and professionalism are key ingredients to the success of her shows. She is the creator, producer and hostess of the syndicated hit television series “En Casa de Lucy”. This home magazine show has been the signature series during twelve years in eighteen Latin American countries and Portugal, where it is aired on Casa Club TV, owned and operated by MGM Latino. It also aired for several years in the continental United States on Galavision Television Network. Lucy Pereda is considered a true lifestyle diva.

 

In June 2008 Ms. Pereda launched a new series: “La Vida Light”. This show focuses only on one of her passions: health cooking. She shares with her viewers easy, delicious and fulfilling recipes that are low in calories, fat and carbohydrates. “La Vida Light” has become of the new favorites of Casa Club TV and the viewers have given it five star ratings.

 

Cuban born, Lucy Pereda started her television career in Puerto Rico. After living for a few years in Maryland, her family moved to the Island where practically overnight she became the top model of the local fashion scene. Shortly after, she entered the television media as a weather anchor and subsequently became a news anchor. Eventually she started producing her own daytime show, “La Primera Tanda con Lucy” as well as other award winning fashion and travel documentaries.

 

When Ms. Pereda and her family moved to Miami, Florida, she started the cycle all over again: first as news anchor in the local Channel 51 newscasts, then she went on to Univision as hostess of the talk shows “Mundo Latino” and “TV Mujer”. She also presented the OTI Musical Festivals, Premios Lo Nuestro and other special events.

 

She was also hostess and director of her radio talk show “El Show de Lucy Pereda” and WQBA and WQUI in Miami.

 

It was not until in 1997 that, as an independent producer, she created the series “En Casa de Lucy” that propelled her to the international arena.

 

Ms. Pereda authored “De Mi Cocina”, a beautiful cookbook with a collection of more than two hundred recipes and healthy lifestyle tips. In 2009 she authored another bilingual cookbook “Healthy Cooking with Lucy Pereda”. She has also been a contributor writer for El Nuevo Herald and People en Espanol.

 

The scope of Ms. Pereda career also covers acting in soap operas (“Color de PIel”), film (“Amigos”), and musical comedies (“Vida y Fantasia”, “Le Grand Café”, and “Lucy”, a musical adaptation in Spanish of “Life With Father”).

 

For several years Ms. Pereda has performed as spokesperson and lifestyle expert for Humana. Her personal appearances and healthy cooking seminars in health fairs, special events and as a special guest on television shows, are carried out in English and in Spanish to both, the mainstream media and the Hispanic media as well.

 

Lucy Pereda has been the recipient of many awards and commendations throughout her career for her outstanding professionalism and contributions to many humanitarian causes.

Lucy Pereda es una de las figures mas reconocidas de la television hispana tanto en Estados Unidos como en America Latina. Ella es la creadora, productora y presentadora de la exitosa serie “En Casa de Lucy”, el programa de media hora de duracion que ha estado en los primeros lugares de audiencia por mas de diez anos en Casa Club TV, que es propiedad de MGM Networks Latinamerica y cubre mas de dieciocho paises. “En Casa de Lucy” tambie se transmitio durante varios anos en Galavision en Estados Unidos. El carisma y el profesionalismo de Lucy fueron factores determinantes del exito del programa y hoy ella esta considerada una verdadera experta en estilo de vida.

 

En junio del 2008 Lucy estreno su nuevo exito “La Vida Light”. Este show se enfoca en una de sus grandes pasiones: la cocina saludable. Ella comparte con los televidentes recetas faciles y deliciosas que son bajas en calorias, carbohidratos y grasa. Su lema es “para comer saludablemente no tienes que sacrificarte”. El programa es informativo, entretenido y ligero. Desde que salio al aire por primera vez se convirtio en favorito de los televidentes que le dieron cinco estrellas en las encuestas.

 

Lucy Pereda nacio en Cuba y empezo su carrera de television en Puerto Rico. Primero como presentadora del informe del tiempo en WAPA Televison y mas tarde como presentadora y productora de su programa “En Casa de Lucy” por mas de diez anos. Tambien produjo varios documentales en Roma, Londres, Buenos Aires y Puerto Rico dentro la serie “Lucy Pereda En…” que le merecieron premios de la prensa local e internacional. Lucy se convirtio en un icono de la television puertorriquena.

 

Anos mas tarde ella y su familia se mudaron a Miami, Florida, donde comenzo su carrera de nuevo como locutora de noticias en el canal 51. Despues, en Univision, fue animadora y presentadora de varios programas, tales como “Mundo Latino”, “TV Mujer” festivales OTI, Premios Lo Nuestro y otros.

 

Lucy tambien fue directora y conductora de su programa de radio “El Show de Lucy Pereda” en WQBA en Miami, donde demostro una vez mas su gran habilidad como entrevistadora y periodista.

 

Finalmente en 1997 comenzo a producir como productora independiente su famosa serie “En Casa de Lucy”. Los segmentos de cocina saludable de dicho programa tuvieron tanto impacto en sus televidentes que Lucy imprimio su primer libro: “De Mi Cocina”, una recopilacion de mas de doscientas recetas bajas en grasa y cosejos para llevar un vida saludable. Lucy tambien ha escrito columnas para People en Espanol y el Nuevo Herald.

 

Desde hace varios anos Lucy Pereda es lavocera y experta en estilo saludable par Humana en el sur de la Florida. Ademas de campanas de prensa y television, ella visita ciudades de la Florida presentando seminaries de cocina saludable en estaciones de television, ferias de salud y otros eventos especiales para los miembros de Humaana. Recientemente se Humana publico su segundo libro de cocina saludable bilingue “Healthy Cooking”.

 

Lucy Pereda ha sido recipiente de multiples reconocimientos a traves de su carrera por su gran profesionalismo y por su contribucion a muchas causas humanitarias.
